The man was dismayed. It would be 3 weeks until the procedure could be provided. Considering the importance of early treatment, such a delay seemed criminal.
Worse - later that week a notification arrived: the appointment date was pushed back another week.
The larger city to the north might have better options....
It did. There was a gastroenterologist at a famous research hospital who specialized in Autoimmune Pancreatitis.
The Endoscopic Ultrasound and other tests were scheduled for the following Monday.
