19 That Monday Morning
He got there early. Filled out paperwork, gave blood and urine samples, then underwent the procedure.
The old splint was replaced with a new one. As with the ERCP, he awoke disoriented and in pain.
He had a difficult night. It was spent in a hotel because he was an outpatient. By morning, he felt better. .
He returned the next day for a report
"Your IGG4 Type 1 level suggests you might have Autoimmune Pancreatitis instead of cancer."
"Let's treat it as such and see if there is an improvement. I'm prescribing a prednisone regimen starting at 40mg daily, and I'll see you again in 3 weeks."
