Surgery was not an option because the mass was too close to the portal vein.
Radiation and chemotherapy were the remaining options, but a further procedure, an Endoscopic Ultrasound, was necessary before beginning.
Endoscopic Ultrasound procedures were not performed in his hospital. He would have to go elsewhere.
The man was discharged from the hospital. (It had been 14 days since the initial diagnosis.)
