That All Men Are Created Equal

From the Declaration of Independence (2nd paragraph)

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.



History tells us when Thomas Jefferson wrote these beautiful words, he did not actually mean "All Men". In the 2000'S, although the phrase had come to mean all people, spanning racial, ethnic, and gender distinctions - inequality and discriminaton continued to prevail.
