7      In the Hospital Room

Lots of monitors that beep. TV with remote. Someone sleeping in the other bed. Wife in chair looking tired and worried.

Tubed needle inserted in arm delivering clear liquid from a bag. Taped, but always coming loose to set off buzzer when asleep. No solid food: “We like to starve the pancreas… cleans it out.”

Pain medication (fentanyl, hydromorphone, morphine, oxycodone, oxymorphone, tramadol – who knows?) makes him happy. Everyone is beautiful. Life is good.

No solid food: liquid through the arm in a constant drip. No getting out of bed to pee. RE:Portable Urinal Pee Bottle.

(Golden orange - beautiful, but not good.)
