6       The Results

The man and his wife listened as the doctor spoke.

"It's your pancreas. We need to look at it more closely. It could be many things... blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, cancer, blah, blah, blah..."

Wait. Did she just say cancer? His wife squeezed his hand.

Slow to react, but after a moment, the man asked "Did you just say I might have cancer in my pancreas?"

"We don't know anything for sure until we do further tests," said the doctor, "but it is a possibility."
