14 The Call from Martina
Martina was his workplace supervisor. She called to check in and ask how he was doing.
A much appreciated, friendly call.
The conversation wandered until it settled on a colleague who had lost a P.C. battle before her time.
Bruce was his name. A beautiful human, a great artist, a humble poet, a lover of life, and a singular inspiration.
The man was surprised and embarrassed to find himself weeping as he spoke about the colleague and the tragedy of his death.
Martina may have thought he was mourning his own predicament, but, his tears were sentimental, driven by the memory of a good man.
