Polk's homage to his aunt. She was his mother's sister. He looked up to her as a woman of strength, determination, perseverence - a rebel who followed her own path. This varied edition of hand-colored and collaged lithographs was completed shortly after the time of her death.
"As a younger person, in her prime, we all admired her for her sharp wit and fierce independent spirit. By the time of her eighties, dementia had robbed her of the ability to care for herself, but she remained a fighter to the end."
