He noted on tonight’s program was Mozart’s “Linz Symphony”, and wondered if the Philharmonic would do it justice. This wasn’t St. Petersburg or Vienna after all.

His father had loved Mozart – he said he would try to ‘visualize’ the music during the dark times.

Once when he was a small child, his Father took him to Linz. He mostly remembered the picnic at the river, but he also remembered how they were mostly quiet all the time.

His granddaughter, at six, was about the same age. This was her first concert.
