The Best Marks

If I could make marks that look like they existed always... even from before they came into being.... Marks of nature or even industry would be better than those that look like what I would do. I feel I have succeeded when the work comes off like a natural occurence, even when it is a confluence of contractions.

For this reason, I rely on techniques of chance that yield forms, textures, and etc. unlike what I would be able to conceive of in my mind.
